The Safest Plane in the Air, is the Powered Parachute, or PPW, Powered Para-Wing.
I assure you that SAFETY is my main PRIORITY!
Once in the air the PPW has only three controls to operate; the throttle, the right foot steering bar and the left foot steering bar. On the ground the PPW has one other control which is the ground steering handle.
It is almost impossible to STALL the Buckeye Powered Parachute. I have never heard of a case where one has stalled.
In the case of an engine out, you have a PARACHUTE! to come down with!
There is no excuse for an engine out. The Rotax engine is by far the most reliable aircraft engine available, and when maintained they run forever. Turning the engine switch off and running out of gas is about the only way to have an engine out, if the engine is properly maintained.
Flying is only as safe as You Are. It is each individuals responsibility to ensure that all aspects of flying safe; physical, mental, knowledge, weather, equipment, etc, has been taken in consideration prior to each flight. There are some other aspects on safety, on the weather page.
You can go to www.aerosports.org or www.eaa.org to find Flight Instructor qualifications, and other information about PPW's.
